Trouble with the Curve

Rent it on Amazon
Watching movies is not a pastime of mine as I find that the time could be better spent on checking off tasks on my never ending to do list. Chris however loves the entertainment so many times we find ourselves settling in for a movie around bedtime. I sleep and he watches the movie. Things were a little different however we when rented Trouble with the Curve. I found myself enthralled with the story line and continue to watch rather than settle in for sleep. For me there was never a dull moment and the ending left me filled with hope and wanting to stand up and cheer!

So if you haven’t seen the movie maybe you are thinking ‘it must be a chick flick!’ Let me just say it stars Clint Eastwood as a baseball scout so it is a typical non-chick combination. The storyline is relatable with elements of everyday life woven throughout the film. You see real struggles and real triumphs. It is a perfect combination of what would have been and making the best of what is. A story that shows it is never too late to do what you love and that sometimes you have to say no to what everyone else sees as good because, for you, there is something better. And yes, there is just enough of a love story to hold the attention of a woman and yet not too mushy for a man, remember Clint Eastwood and baseball!

As you might have realized, I enjoyed the analytical aspects of the movie and looking for life lessons from the story. Chris, on the other hand, described it like this, “I just liked it.” Where we can both agree is that this is one of the most brilliant movies we have seen in a while and whatever the ingredients that held both of our attention, it was a perfect combination.

If you haven’t seen it, we highly recommend you do. If you have seen it, did it leave you with any intriguing thoughts? Or maybe you just simply thought “I liked it” or maybe not.

Whatever the case...“Life throws us all curves we have to learn to adjust and overcome.” Shante

What is frantically relaxed?

Frantically relaxed is the day to day normal for our life.  Whether it be kids, work, faith, finances, new endeavors, or just hanging around, there are always two tales to be told because in our home we function with two very different minds.  The man of the house keeps calm while the woman of the house (that would be myself) proceeds to panic and over analyze every decision, action, and conversation that has or might occur.  This, as you might imagine, can lead to very unique and humorous stories.  In those times we invite you to sit back and enjoy the laughs.  Then there are times where our minds collide and formulate something of pure genius.  In our moments of pure genius, we invite you to listen and take away any benefit you may find. Finally, there are the most common moments we experience. These are the moments when we both communicate very passionately about topics close to our hearts. Although we find that many times the conclusion is the same, the journey to get there is never the same. We invite you to explore with us and see where it leads.

What we can say, is that frantic without relaxed and relaxed without frantic just isn't complete.
